Asean Smiles (English Edition) (H)

    The smile is the heart of the book ASEAN SMILES wich wishes to ring inthe ASEAN Economic Commumity in 2015. Although the goal of AEC is to focus on economic matter, this book does not confine itself to the economic linkages of the 10 member countries because ASEAN's relationships are multi-dimensional. It is strange but true that only a small number of people study and know their neighbours who are living in the same region. Hence the coming together of the AEC should be an important turning point for ASEAN people in terms of learning about each other. This is the origin of the book ASEAN SMILES which, through pictures and words, compiles the history, the cultures and traditions, education, economic linkages, communications and the ways of life of ASEAN. The photographs and the text have been screened and melded so that the two are of one fabric. This book is not an academic tome, but one that brings together the smiles of the past and the present in order to forge a future smiles of ASEAN citizens united as one.
